Design About Trends
I always get excited about going to High Point Furniture Market (known to the trade simply as “Market”) every year to see what is new in our industry. The little town of High Point, N.C. blossoms into the ultimate in trade shows, and the place where thousands of new products debut every fall and every spring. It’s where many of the latest trends in home furnishings are first spotted. At Market designers can zero in on the latest and greatest products to determine what will be the classic or cutting-edge design trends.  I found many interesting trends this fall, including new space-saving designs, as well as vivid colors and uses of leather....

In this ensemble from Moe's, four leather storage ottomans are tucked neatly under a glass coffee table, to be used for extra seating and to store things just where they are needed.
How practical is that?

This leather storage bed from Moe's can hide a lot of pillows, as well as a full set of sheets and last season's clothing. It's a great way to use the space and also keep the clean lines of  a contemporary bed.

And here is a contemporary dining table from Eurostyle, which represents a lot of trends...First, it slides open to double its size-- a great spacesaver; it is in bright, strong orange, again a big color this year; and it is paired with white lacquer--- another noticeable trend....

These chairs from Eurostyle are a great example of the wonderful leather colors visible at High Point this fall...

I love the shape of this bold, red lacquer and chrome accent table from Bailey Street. It is a good example of shine and dramatic color!
